The Singletary’s decision followed in the footsteps of Sean Wade (2017) and Trick Johnson (2018) at the former five-star Trinity Christian Academy, and both chose Columbus as their next home after leaving Jacksonville.
As it was, choosing Wade and Johnson to commit to Ohio helped provide a path for the Singletary to choose Buckeyes.

Since I was introduced to Ohio, I’ve spoken to them every day. ”
November 5 is the time Buckeyes’ team finally came, and that was a defining moment for the # 10 in the nation and # 5 back.
Singletary carries offers from Clemson, Georgia, and Florida – the other three schools that were in the last four – as well as LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M and USC.

But Keri Coombs’ reputation for setting defensive league appearances, and his relationship with both Combs and area recruiter Tony Alford, led to Singletary hoping Buckeye’s bid would be extended.

This was the show he had been waiting for for so long, and when he finally came it was only a matter of time before he made his decision.
“Ohio is one of those schools that puts the best DB in the league,” Singletary told Bucknuts. Marshon Latimore, Ellie Apple, Hooker’s owner, and many more. They can bring me closer to my goal of reaching the NFL and playing ball. ”
Singletary’s recruiting spread quickly after that show, as the 6-foot-1, 170-foot-tall player had Crystal Ball predictions for finally choosing Columbus.
Now with him in the fold, Buckeyes is getting a higher level on the outside back while they continue to build their defense of the future with the blue chip players.
