Israel conducts another raid on Gazas Shifa Hospital, alleges presence of Hamas militants.

Israeli forces stormed Gaza Strip’s largest hospital in a controversial raid that has sparked outrage from the international community. The Israeli military claimed that Hamas militants had regrouped inside the hospital and were firing on them from the compound. This comes amid a six-month long war between Israel and Hamas, with the potential to push nearly half of Gaza’s population to the brink of starvation.

The U.N. food agency has warned of an imminent famine in northern Gaza, where over 200,000 people are facing catastrophic hunger. The Health Ministry reported that around 30,000 people, including patients, medical staff, and displaced individuals, are seeking shelter at the hospital. Israeli forces surrounded the facility, shooting at people inside and detaining dozens of individuals.

Most of Gaza’s medical facilities have been forced to close due to a lack of fuel and medical supplies, while casualties continue to mount in Israeli airstrikes. The war has resulted in the deaths of at least 31,726 Palestinians, with women and children accounting for two-thirds of the casualties.

Efforts are being made by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt to broker a cease-fire and secure the release of hostages held by both sides. Hamas is demanding guarantees for an end to the conflict, while Israel has vowed to continue until Hamas is dismantled. The United States and other nations are providing aid through airdrops and sea routes, but more ground routes are needed to meet the growing humanitarian needs.

EU diplomats have condemned Israel for using starvation as a weapon of war and have called for greater efficiency in aid distribution. Aid groups have criticized Israeli authorities for hindering the distribution of aid and causing delays in essential supplies reaching those in need. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with the international community urging for a swift end to the violence and a lasting solution to the conflict.
