It was a disappointing season for the perpetual Pro Bowler Julio Jones. Atlanta Falcons’ Broadcast Receiver missed four matches due to injuries, with poor hamstrings deforming play since the start of 2020 around the time.
Jones is out Today Against the Pirates, and with nothing to play for, interim Falconry coach Rahim Morris was repeatedly asked if he would shut down Jones for the rest of the season.
A source said Jones had no plans to do so.
In fact, Jones received an injection of platelet-rich plasma in his uncomfortable hamstrings after losing Saints in early December, a procedure intended to accelerate healing in the area that was causing him problems throughout the season. It’s also a strong sign that he wants to play again.
As Morris said, “We’ll see what he can do in the last two games.”
Jones is on the way for low career stats this season. He has only 771 yards on 51 hunters with three TDs. Thanks to injuries, he did not look like himself.
Atlanta faces Bucks bosses in the last two games of the season. With no trip to the qualifiers possible, and no reason to play other than potential help Morris in his claim to the full-time job, Jones still hopes to be there. A PRP injection should help.
Using a person’s platelet concentrate, the goal of the injection is to speed up healing. It generally takes a few weeks to work, making it possible for Jones to be on the field for the last two games of the year.
