The opening of the Sprint Cup at Brands Hatch this weekend will have extensive TV coverage, including live events in the UK, Italy and Germany, thanks to the extended AWS and Sky partnership between Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.
Two 60-minute races will take place at the 3.9 kilometer Kent Grand Prix, starting four weeks after the start of the Imola Endurance Cup campaign. A group of 26 cars have been confirmed to participate in the event, which uses a unique design for two days on Saturday and Sunday.
Fans from the UK, Italy and Germany can watch both games live and in full from their skate spots. The opening race will be covered in Germany (Sky Sports F1) and Sky Italy from 12:00 to 13:40 CEST and in the UK from 11:00 to 12:40 GMT (Sky Sports F1). The second 60-minute event will take place in the CEST regions from 5pm to 7pm and in the UK from 4pm to 6pm.
The Sky deal is part of a comprehensive television package for the 2022 season. This includes a new deal with French channel AutoMoto La Chaine, which will broadcast this weekend’s races live and in full. A mix of live action and high profile events will be broadcast across the globe, covering all of Asia, the Americas, Africa, Oceania and the Middle East. Fans will be able to access every race lap of the upcoming campaign through free streaming on the series’ website and social media sites, including Facebook and GT World’s YouTube channel. Comments will be added in German and Italian along with applicable options in English and French, and coverage will begin at 09:00 on Saturday with free training.
In addition to live action, the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe 2022 will be promoted by AWS at various global motorsport press events. These devices include Mobil 1: The Grid, Sports Unlimited and Motorsport Mundial MaxPower.
