Candidate Jaime Harrison protected himself on the debate stage using a transparent partition as the two candidates met on stage at Allen University in Colombia – ahead of state voters Head to the polls In November.
Graham and Harrison spoke from a distance of 13 feet after both candidates tested negative for the virus on Friday, according to the Associated Press.
But Harrison said he used the partition anyway, and told reporters he wanted to take all necessary precautions to keep him and his loved ones safe.
“It’s not just about me, it’s about the people in my life that I have to take care of, too – my children, my wife and my grandmother,” said Harrison, 44, according to the Associated Press.
The Harrison campaign claimed that the Democrats’ use of the oath was in compliance with the federal government’s recommendations that anyone in close contact with people infected with the virus should be in quarantine for 14 days.
The Associated Press reported that Graham, 65, recently spent time with fellow Republicans in the Senate, including some of those who confirmed last week that they had tested positive for the virus.
He was asked after discussion about President Trump And other Republicans who recently contracted the virus, Graham said he would prefer to focus on how to keep the US government and the economy running despite the deadly pandemic.

“The virus is a problem that came out of China, not Trump Tower,” Graham said, according to the Associated Press.
A Quinnipiac University poll on Wednesday showed that Graham and Harrison are tied, and each supported 48 percent of voters, I mentioned Politico.
