Animated short blush
From Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation comes “Blush,” the first short film to debut as part of a multi-year partnership to deliver innovative, high-quality animated films and high-quality animated series in more than 100 countries on Apple TV +.
“Blush” tracks the journey and survival chances of an astronaut-gardener stranded on a desolate dwarf planet after a collision. With the arrival of an unexpected ethereal visitor, our lonely traveler discovers the joy of building a new life and realizes that the universe has reserved for him a surprising salvation.
Apple / Skydance’s first short film written and directed by Emmy Award director Joe Mateo (“Prep & Landing”, “Big Hero 6”) shares it on the path to healing and hopes that love will save him with viewers. Matteo developed Blush in collaboration with Team Skydance Animation, produced by Heather Schmidt Feng Yanu (“Toy Story”, “Cars” trilogy), and Oscar® John Lasseter Award winner (“Toy Story” and “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars”) is Executive producer from the winner. “Blush” joins the upcoming Apple / Skydance films “Luck”, “Spellbound” and the animated series “The Search for Wondla”, with several feature films and TV series announced during the term of the agreement.
Blush comes after Apple’s recent Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Film for Wolfwalkers, the latest movie directed by two-time Academy Award-nominated Tom Moore and director Ross Stewart.
Films and series created and produced by Skydance Animation will be shown alongside Apple Original Films, including Academy Award nominated “Greyhound”, Critics Choice Award nominated “Palmer” and Golden Globe and Critics nominated film. “On The Rocks”, two-time Critics Choice Documentary Winner, Sundance Film Festival Boys State Grand Jury Prize Winner and Critics Choice Documentary nominee “Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds”.
