Indianapolis – Gambler Colts Rigoberto Sanchez He went from not knowing his future in the NFL to turning away from playing again less than three weeks after the tumor was removed.

Sanchez coach Frank Reich said Friday that Sanchez will resume handling duties and kick start Sunday’s game against Houston Texas.

“Great coaching staff, working with great doctors and young adults,” said Reich. “All three of these things matter, and we are very fortunate to have the people we have.”

Sanchez, who refused to divulge the type of cancer he was dealing with, noticed something wasn’t right while doing some dry twists before starting the practice on November 25. Ultrasound and MRI revealed a tumor. Sanchez still plays, albeit only kicking the ball, in the November 29 loss to Tennessee before he undergoes surgery on December 1.

Earlier this week, Sanchez said, “I’m not going to do that for my team.” “It’s all about the team. At the end of the day, I don’t think they could have gotten a gambler in time, and it wouldn’t be worse. That was really the worst-case scenario I would have fought through pain no matter what.”

Sanchez said doctors told him things looked “very good” and that his “numbers were definitely lower.” He returned to the facility and trained this week.

“I’m lucky enough to be moving all the time, and using my body in a variety of ways,” said Sanchez. “This is crazy because I think [Reich] I mentioned that if I had been doing some office work, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up right away. I am lucky to be young and to be able to do what I do, and I play football here. I was lucky enough to be picked up in time and after that, the doctors took the lead and just followed them. I’m just grateful they found it early. ”
