Apple just released iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, and HomePod 16.5. Here are all the news of the new operating systems.
In iOS 16.5, Apple adds a new Pride wallpaper, a Sports tab in Apple News (US only), and fixes for Spotlight and Screen Time issues.
- New Pride Celebration lock screen wallpaper honoring the LGBTQ+ community and culture
- The Sports tab in Apple News gives you easy access to stories, scores, standings, and more for the teams and leagues you follow (US only)
- Fixed an issue where Spotlight was not responding properly
- Fixed an issue where content in podcasts might not load in CarPlay
- Fixed an issue where Screen Time settings could be reset or not sync across devices
‌‌iOS 16‌‌‌.5 and iPadOS 16.5 It can be downloaded over the air to eligible iPhones and iPads by logging in Settings > General > Software Update. It may take a few minutes for the updates to be available to all users.
Apple also released a New 16.5 software created for HomePod and HomePod mini. According to Apple’s release notes, the update brings more stability and performance improvements to devices.
The ‌‌‌‌‌HomePod‌‌‌‌‌‌ software is automatically installed on the HomePod‌‌ unless the feature is disabled‌‌‌, but the speaker can also be manually updated in the Home app by following the instructions in our guide.
