The new Cross Fiat could take on a historic name for the brand. Debuted in July and produced in Poland with the Jeep Avenger
The arrival of a new Fiat-branded compact crossover is just around the corner. The presentation is scheduled for the summer (July), but various information is already circulating about which model will replace the 500X and which Fiat 600 can be called according to some rumors, Taking a historic name for the brand.
Made in Poland with the Jeep Avenger
What is certain is that the car is being built in Poland at the Stellantis group’s Tychy plant, which was once home to the Jeep Avenger and is also ready to produce Alfa Romeo’s new small crossover arriving in 2024. The Fiat 600 has a lot in common with these three models. More than just a detail: the base used is the same (e-CMP platform) and so are most of the ingredients. However, the design will be 100% made in Fiat and they prove it The first images of the camouflaged car, whose rounded shapes recall those of the 500. From these the first submission hypotheses of the model were born, including those of the French magazine argosused as the opening image and very similar to the 500X.
Even a hybrid?
The default Fiat 600 should be available in both endothermic and 100% electric versions. For the latter, the 156-horsepower engine and 54-kWh battery is easy to predict for a Jeep Avenger.Which declares a range of about 400 km. On the other hand, it is difficult to imagine the range of engines traditional for the model. On the one hand, the use of a 100 hp 1.2 three-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the Avenger (from PSA origin) could be assumed, but on the other hand, the use of electrified engines also seems likely, in order to make the car compatible with the emission levels imposed by the Euro standard 7 Futurist.
