NEW YORK, Jan. 10 — “Elvis” Austin Butler won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama. He beat out “The Whale” Brendan Fraser, “The Son” Hugh Jackman, “Living” Bill Nighy and “Inspection” Jeremy Pope. Fraser boycotted the Globe for being harassed by a former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which they credit 80 years ago. Cate Blanchett won Best Actress in a Drama for Tar. The star, who has been “busy in the UK on business,” was not present in Los Angeles to accept the award. Colin Farrell won Best Comedy Actor for Martin McDonagh’s “The Banshees of Inisherin’.” It’s the second Golden Globe for the actor, who in his acceptance speech thanked Little Donkey Jenny, the film’s co-star. “I am delighted to be at the ceremony in person,” Guillermo del Toro accepted the Golden Globe Award for his “Pinocchio” Animation of the Year. “Life, losses, belonging,” these are the themes of the film as summed up by the director upon receiving the statue.
