US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and President of the Federated States of Micronesia, David Panuelo, also expressed at a meeting their “common concern about the signing of a bilateral security agreement between the People’s Republic of China and the Solomon Islands.” Face to face, Sullivan reaffirmed “the United States’ unwavering commitment to the security and prosperity of freely associated nations” and discussed “issues of common interest in the Pacific Island region.”
