(La Presse) The Rolling Stones were commemorated with a special series of stamps from Royal Mail, the UK’s leading postal company. The set of 12 stamps depicts the legendary English rock band’s performance over fifty years. Pictures from concerts: Hyde Park, London, July 1969. East Rutherford, New Jersey, August 2019; Rotterdam, Netherlands, August 1995; Tokyo, Japan, March 1995; New York, July 1972; Oslo, Norway, May 2014; Knebworth, Hertfordshire, UK, August 1976; Düsseldorf, Germany, October 2017. Four more stamps – presented on miniature sheet – show two shots of the band together and two old world tour posters. The Rolling Stones are only the fourth band to appear on a custom stamp issue, after The Beatles in 2007, Pink Floyd in 2016 and The Queen in 2020. The stamps will go on sale January 20, 2022.
