(ANSA) – ROME, Dec 12 – The Australian government is allegedly deafening, not responding to the calls of organizations and supporters on behalf of its citizen Julian Assange, who risks being extradited from a London prison to the United States. This is what the Guardian wrote, in which Canberra indicates that it is “following the case closely” but wants to “continue to respect the legal tender, including future appeals of British justice” against extradition, and to continue not to be “a party to the dispute”.
After a recent ruling that overturned a previous refusal to grant extradition to the founder of WikiLeaks, who risks severe convictions for espionage in the United States, the defense of Assange and the organizations that support him have turned to conservative Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. They asked him to spend on the release of the Australian Assange and put an end to this “madness”.
