The passion of Andalusia arrives on the stage of the Don Bosco Theater in Ragusa, ready to infect the spectators with the 28th International Concert Season “Melodica” with its operas and music. Indeed, on Saturday December 17 at 20.30 with the concert entitled “PasiĆ²n andaluza” you will breathe the Andalusian climate with typical Iberian sounds, warm thanks to the piano tones of JosĆ© Manuel Cuenca and the dance steps of the flamenco dancer Almudena Roca. A sweet and intimate setting for a musical and cultural journey to discover beauty and traditions, land and gold, seas and olive trees, symbolic bays and brown trees. Of art, of red and fire, of orange blossoms and deserts, whose corners unite the most diverse and fullest manifestations of race, elegance and rudeness. From the sun and dancing. Made up of Southern inspirations and fantasies, the track on “Pasion Andalouza” is a musical and choreographic mosaic showcasing the creations of famous composers and artists. The two artists who will accompany the audience along this route will be JosĆ© Manuel Cuenca on the piano and Almudena Roca on the dance. The evening will be hosted by Rossella Schembri.
JosĆ© Manuel Cuenca studied piano and clarinet at the Conservatory of Music in CĆ³rdoba, and finished both instruments with the end of exceptional degree award. Developed an extensive artistic career in Spain, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Cuba, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, France, Andorra, United States, Venezuela, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Ukraine, Denmark, Turkey, Italy and Sweden And Lebanon, Syria, Portugal, Switzerland, the Philippines and Japan, performing in prestigious banquet halls. Together with his brother, Francisco Cuenca, he has made eight recordings. He has received many prestigious awards and recognitions.
Almudena Roca began her studies at the Institute of Professional Dance in Murcia, where she obtained an honors degree in the Professional Diploma of Spanish and Flamenco Dance, in addition to being promoted from the course and finishing her degree early. He received first prize for Spanish dance and flamenco in the “Murcia Dance Time” competition, also suggested by Dona Virginia Valero, director of the Madrid Dance Institute “Maria de Avila” to start his studies in this center. She holds a Higher Diploma in Choreography and Interpretation of Spanish and Flamenco Dance from the same Centre. She has perfected herself with great teachers. I graduated in Master of Flamenco Science at the High School of Music of Catalunya. He is part of several companies where he performs as a soloist.
