Microsoft Sony has reportedly been offered a deal to carry the series Call of duty on me PlayStation Plusthe PlayStation subscription service, on the condition that the Japanese multinational stop standing in the way of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and do everything in its power to prevent it.
Sony could then include games from the Call of Duty series in Premium subscription (we infer, since we’re also talking about cloud gaming), allowing you to play them as well in streaming. This offer is part of a ten-year agreement Microsoft has proposed to Sony to keep the Call of Duty series on PlayStation platforms, an agreement whose existence has been confirmed by Microsoft itself.
Sony On his own has not yet been accepted. He likely doesn’t want to lose the only real argument he has at his disposal to defend against and try to prevent a takeover, namely the risk of PlayStation gamers losing the Call of Duty franchise.
This news comes a few days after the Federal Trade Commission (the US antitrust authority) decided to sue Microsoft to block the deal. The Redmond house is trying its best to prove its good faith, that is, it does not want to remove the Call of Duty series from other platforms, but the road has become really steep.
This also includes the agreement with Nintendo to create ports of the series for its consoles for ten years and the attempt to agree with Valve, which Gabe Newell rejected due to the complete trust he had in Phil Spencer and the Xbox.
