Italy’s Minister of Enterprise and Made, Adolfo Orso, will be on mission to Washington from June 1 to 4, for the celebration of Italian Republic Day and for a series of bilateral meetings in which he will meet, among others, Gina Raimondo, Secretary of Commerce in the Biden administration.
Great attention will be paid to industrial and commercial synergies between Italy and the United States, also in view of the double ecological and digital transformation. Among the topics on the agenda are the measures put in place by the Italian government to promote the attraction of investments in our country: from the creation of a corporate sovereign fund also open to private investors, which will be included in the Made in Italy bill to a study by the Council of Ministers next week, on Creation of a one-stop-shop in the Ministry to remove bureaucracy and simplify the activities of foreign investors thanks to the introduction of a number of dedicated teachers.
Provisions to be made clear to the Italian business community in the US and US companies and investment funds interested in betting on Italy. The meetings will outline the guidelines for the National Microelectronics Plan, harmonized with the European Chip Code, with the aim of strategic autonomy in a sector that is now becoming crucial on a global level.
The core of the mission also lies in strengthening cooperation between the United States and Italy in the space sector and the centrality that Italy has taken in supporting Ukraine and the country’s future reconstruction projects.
