Last month, HBO announced this Wonder Woman 1984 It will air on HBO Max on December 25, the same day it opens in US cinemas. The movie will also be the first 4K title available on the platform. Now, in time for the movie’s release, HBO is introducing support for 4K UHD and HDR on select Android devices.
The new update, v50.8.1.240, is already available at Google Play Store, But you can also download it from APK Mirror. In addition to 4K, the new app offers support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for supported devices – the formats that will support them WW84.
HBO says streaming in 4K will be available for the following devices:
- Supported Android TV devices (not HBO specified)
- Chromecast Ultra
- Chromecast with Google TV
- Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
- Amazon Fire TV Cube
- 4K Fire TV Edition Smart TVs
- AT&T TV
- Apple TV 4K
HBO Max is also available on Playstation, Xbox, and Roku, but it looks like you won’t be able to stream in 4K on those devices yet – it’s limited to 1080p at the moment. First of all, Wonder Woman 1984 will only be available in UHD service, but more HD movies will be added during 2021.
