The AstraZeneca vaccine is behind the UK’s good results in the daily count of deaths due to Covid. Clive Dix, head of the British vaccination task force, gave an interview to the Daily Telegraph in which he praised the Anglo-Swedish product, which is practically no longer administered in Italy after the heated debate in recent months: “In Europe, the increase in cases also corresponds to a subsequent increase in deaths. But this is not the case in the UK and we have to understand why. Personally, I think this is due to the fact that most of our vulnerable people have been given the AstraZeneca vaccine.”
Dix also noted that this type of vaccine can help prevent severe Covid disease for longer than the two messenger vaccines of Pfizer and Modern: “I expect that the immunity produced by the AstraZeneca vaccine can last a lifetime.” Analysis of the data in the coming weeks may confirm this hypothesis and deal a serious blow to the virus and to all European governments that rejected AstraZeneca.
