Avellino
Everything is ready to move the 118th Headquarters to Avellino. In a few days, Central will leave the emergency room at Muscati Hospital in Avellino to move to the former Australia Center. But it is a temporary assignment, pending the completion of the redevelopment work of the former Maafuchi Hospital in Contrada Benigni. In fact, the large hospital complex was given on a free loan to the ASL for 50 years. In the meantime, the Australia Centre, which is the responsibility of the ASL, will host the Emergency Operations Centre.
The goal is to improve work also thanks to the new ambulance triage system created by Director Rosaria Bruno. A system based on various clinical assistance algorithms to improve the effectiveness of emergency care that determines treatment times and methods as soon as the 118 call arrives, in order to send the best equipped medical nursing team to the patient’s place. The general manager of the ASL Avellino, Mario Nicola Ferrante, signed the resolution to authorize the measure that has become necessary to “standardize the decision-making process of emergency service nurses in the ASL of Avellino according to international guidelines.” In order to “reduce premature deaths, predictable deaths, and long- and short-term disabling outcomes, complications” but also for “safe transfer to the most appropriate structure, and stabilization of vital functions as a priority.”
