Abu Dhabi – The Etihad Arena played host to an electrifying night of mixed martial arts as UFC 294 unfolded. The highly anticipated main event saw UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defend his title against featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in an intense rematch.

Their first encounter had ended with Makhachev emerging victorious via unanimous decision. However, this time he wasted no time in solidifying his dominance, securing a first-round knockout to retain his lightweight crown.

The co-main event was no less electrifying, with rising star Khamzat Chimaev facing off against former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. In a shocking turn of events, Chimaev upset the odds and emerged victorious, winning by majority decision.

Not all fights ended with a clear-cut winner, as the bout between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker was ruled a no-contest. However, there were still plenty of memorable moments throughout the event.

Ikram Aliskerov impressed with a first-round TKO victory over Warlley Alves, while Said Nurmagomedov showcased his skills with a first-round submission win over Muin Gafurov. Muhammad Mokaev also left a mark, submitting Tim Elliott with a head-arm choke in the third round.

Other notable victories included Trevor Peek’s unanimous decision win over Mohammad Yahya, Sedriques Dumas’ victory by unanimous decision over Abu Azaitar, and Mike Breeden’s third-round knockout against Anshul Jubli.

Muhammad Naimov displayed his prowess, defeating Nathaniel Wood by unanimous decision, and Viktoriya Dudakova emerged triumphant in her battle against Jinh Yu Frey, winning via unanimous decision. Shara Magomedov also secured a unanimous decision win over Bruno Silva.
