Sony announced that it will withdraw the much-promoted Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation stores around the world citing “customer satisfaction,” following complaints of bugs, compatibility issues, and even health risks.

“SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, and therefore we will begin offering full refunds to all players who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via the PlayStation Store,” the company said in a statement.

The dystopian-themed title is said to be one of the most expensive video games of all time, and its release was highly anticipated.

The game’s release has been delayed twice this year and CD Projekt RED had to add health warnings after a reviewer complained that it caused an epileptic seizure.

The company said last week that it was looking at a “durable solution” to address health risks “as soon as possible”.

Despite the issues, entertainment rating site Metacritic gave Cyberpunk 2077 a score of 87 out of 100 based on 69 reviews, describing it as “an open world, action-adventure story set in the Night City, a mega-city obsessed with strength, magic, and adventure body modification.”

However, player ratings posted on the site were less optimistic, with Cyberpunk 2077 earning a score of 7.0 out of 10 based on ratings from 20,544 users.
