12 countries will be represented in Pella during the second edition of the Top 50, a by-invitational event dedicated to children’s alpine skiing scheduled in the snowy Aosta Valley on December 13th and 14th. Among the 250 boys and students at the start are also athletes from France, Switzerland, Croatia, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, Hungary and Austria, some of whom are part of a working group that runs across the Alps.
The first major success of the organization which aims to further internationalize this event which marks the first seasonal showdown. Along with the list of invited Italian athletes who have joined the top 50 clubs and who will wear the colors of about 80 sports clubs from 11 regional committees.
Pila (Valle d’Aosta) will once again host the youth event organized by the Aosta Ski Club in collaboration and partnership with Race ski magazine. The process of preparing and setting up the slopes for the competitions is nearing completion. Nova is ready, the boys’ slalom is on Tuesday and the students’ slalom is scheduled for Wednesday.
The snowmaking system is in operation and the snow groomer is in action on the “Leissé-Bellevue” slope which was chosen instead for the two giants, the Under-16 Giant (Top-30 heat) on December 13 and the Under-14 Giant (Heat One) the following day. Award presentation at Pella, Thursday early afternoon.
Many of the athletes are now ready to hit the Aosta Valley Resort. By tradition, many clubs prefer to arrive a day or two early to better prepare and experience the slopes. About a hundred riders will skate in Pella on Sunday and Monday mornings.
On the afternoon of the 12th the credits are made, a photo shoot with the young skaters and finally the meeting of the team leaders that will officially unveil the second edition of the TOP 50 projects born in 2021 and also supported by important brands such as PDH (Podhio), Atomic and Liski Sport Equipment.
