The American will be alongside Albon, replacing Latif. ROME (ITALPRESS) – Williams confirmed today that Logan Sargeant will race alongside Alex Albon in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship. The 21-year-old American will therefore race the British team’s car, following the close of the 2022 Formula 2 season (contested on Wheel (Carlin Motorsport) is fourth in the drivers’ standings. Sargeant met the criteria laid down by Williams team manager Jost Capito at the start of the year and the team ceded the race seat to Sargeant (third reserve driver already in 2022). Earlier in September, she announced that she was going to “break up” with Nicholas Latifi, after three seasons. “We are delighted to officially announce Logan as our driver for next year after he was awarded his super license at the end of the last F2 event of the season in Abu Dhabi,” said Capito. “Logan completes our driver lineup for 2023 alongside Alex Albon. Since joining the Driver Academy at the end of 2021, Sargeant has managed to fully integrate with the team while on the simulator and more recently on track, during the four free practice sessions he has participated in. We are happy to see him take a step forward in Formula 1. We are here to support him”, added Capito. “It is such an honor, a dream come true for me to compete in Formula 1 with Williams.
