Virgin Australia expands Boeing 737 Max 8 fleet and will be able to use simulator in Perth - Italiavola & Travel

    Virgin Australia made this announcement:

Virgin Australia has announced that four Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will join its fleet for delivery starting in the second half of 2023, increasing capacity in line with the company’s fleet growth program and Net Zero travel.
Virgin Australia has been given priority access to the complete Boeing 737NG flight simulator in Perth, which will provide a 25% increase in national training capacity for more than 200 Western Australian-based pilots retraining for the type of aircraft as the airline continues its Boeing 737 growth.
Access to the simulator will be available from April 2023 through a long-term partnership with global flight training provider CAE.
With the airline’s relaunch less than two years ago, Virgin Australia scored another major milestone this week, as it celebrated the increase of its workforce to more than 7,000 team members.
Virgin Australia Group has announced four additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and priority access to a full Boeing 737 NG flight simulator that will be deployed in Gandakot, near Perth, as part of a long-term partnership with global flight training provider CAE.

The Boeing 737 Max 8, which joins four other Max 8 aircraft announced in April 2022, will reduce emissions by 15% per flight* and play an important role in Virgin Australia’s Net Zero flight. This additional aircraft support capacity is increasing in line with Virgin Australia’s broader growth strategy, bringing the total Boeing 737 fleet to 92 (consisting of the 737-700, 737-800 and Boeing MAX 8), an increase of nearly 60% since its relaunch in November 2020. The first additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 will be delivered in 2023.
