A group of fourteen professional athletes from Sydney, enrolled in the city’s various rowing clubs, chose Lake Ruvia to prepare Vogalonga, a world-famous competition in which nearly 6,000 rowers from all over the world participate. The race, which is about 30 kilometers long, passes through the Venetian lagoon touching the most privileged points of the place, in particular Burano and Murano, then back through the Giudecca Canal to the Grand Canal, passing under the Rialto Bridge and ending on arrival: Piazza San Marco.

The Mayor of San Miniato, Simone Giglioli, welcomed the 14 athletes on May 30, welcoming them by handing them a print showing the presence of Napoleon Bonaparte, and above all the Bonaparte family, in the city: a moment of coexistence so prized by the athletes. ..
Training will continue until Thursday morning when the boats are loaded into Venice where the Club and Masters of the Diadora Canottieri will be hosted in Lido (VE). From there the training will continue until Sunday morning, when all the boats will go to Piazza San Marco, and at 9:00 in the morning they will leave on this adventure.
The boats will consist of 3 to 4 rowers and one of the helmsmen will be Enzo Ademollo, president of the San Miniato Rowing Club, who has long experience with Vogalonga having already participated in 20 editions of the event. In fact, he knows the path very well, which is very important because in addition to the mastery one must have on the road, it is also necessary to master the paths, to avoid the interception of the prequels (the wooden structures that mark the boundaries of navigation channels).
Participants in this experience will take as a souvenir not only a visit to San Miniato, its flavors, and its welcome, but also the beautiful Vogalonga 2022 experience.
