Reverse Sequence of Rejection Origin for Safety Reasons
Stunning ad video with breathtaking visuals. So amazing that the maneuvers you see are very dangerous. At least in the UK where the Land Rover commercial has been banned. In the sequence, Land Rover Defenders drop off a ferry, drive through town and make their way into the desert. They run on sand, climb dunes and pass rocks. These are the final sequences that led to the oversight: the cars, on top of a cliff, reflect back to the edge of the rock with the help of sensor noise. Open heaven.
danger
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the UK has found the content to be misleading and dangerous. The concern stems from the fact that parking sensors in modern cars cannot detect the empty space, or the edge of a cliff, as shown in the video. Their ultrasonic transducers can only detect solid objects behind the vehicle. If a driver relies on the parking sensors when reversing a slope, they will simply find themselves bouncing off the ledge without the sensors beeping. Jaguar Land Rover responded that the footage in the ad clearly shows it was reflecting toward a rock that could have triggered the sensors.
