    A Verge reporter picked up today’s news about the launch of free-to-play Fortnite on Xbox Cloud Gaming on all platforms, without a subscription, to report on the initiative’s relationship to Xbox Everywhere That would be in the works within Microsoft, with a focus on massive expansion of the services.

    “I’m sure we’ll hear about it in the coming months,” Warren wrote, possibly referring to a possible Xbox & Bethesda Showcase presentation scheduled for June 12, 2022. “xCloud is preparing for more markets, more games, and more hardware.” Among the latter there will be a file “TV disc”as specified by the journalist in question, or a type of disc to be connected to a TV capable of direct access to games on Xbox Cloud.

    Essentially, some kind of Chromecast or Fire Stick to connect directly to the TV, perhaps through HDMI, to play without having to use controllers or other devices, with a compatible controller. Within the initiative, there will also be a Smart TV enabled app, similar to the Google Stadia app, which will also allow this direct access to the Xbox Cloud’s game catalog directly from the TV.
