The Mercedes Vision Eqxx is an electric concept designed by the German company to demonstrate the efficiency of the electric motor. However, Mercedes did more than that because it carried out a real test on normal roads in order to obtain objective data about the actual efficiency of the car.

More than 1000 km with “complete”

Specifically, a trip from Germany to France was organized covering 1,008 kilometers with one recharge, with a consumption of 8.7 kWh / 100 km. Departure took place in Sindelfingen (Germany), on April 5 at 7:00, with arrival in Cassis (France) at 19.02, totaling 12 hours and 2 minutes (indicating the total duration of the journey). Then a road on normal roads. In order to validate the result, the German company turned to the Tuv Sud certification body, which specializes in assessment tests in the automotive sector. The German manufacturer specifies that this test, which was carried out on ordinary roads, was not hypermileage (a series of techniques that are applied to achieve maximum efficiency), but a “real” test in which the car even reached 140 km / h, and maintained Average speed of 87.4 km / h.

    Super efficient

The Mercedes Eqxx is equipped with a 900V 100kWh battery (developed with High Performance, Hpp and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix engines), which, compared to the Eqs 450+ road, is 50% smaller and 30% lighter for a total 495 kg. The total weight of the car is 1750 kg. The battery is powered by a 150 kW motor that drives the rear wheels. In addition to an ultra-efficient powertrain, the Eqxx engine can count on an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.17 and a front headroom of 2.12 square metres. There are also Specific Bridgestone 85/65 R20 tires that are engineered for maximum efficiency.
