    Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and French President Emmanuel Macron signed the Quirinale Treaty in the presence of Italian Head of State Sergio Mattarella during a ceremony in Cole. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

    The text contains a long preamble and 12 articles, with many chapters of cooperation between Italy and France. It is 14 pages long.

    The preamble stresses, among other things, “the goal of a united and sovereign democratic Europe to respond to the global challenges faced by the parties; and in this regard reaffirms the common commitment to deepening the European project in line with the shared responsibility as founding states, in line with the values ​​of the Union and the principle of solidarity.”

    The treaty’s chapters range from foreign affairs, security and defense to economic, industrial and digital cooperation. And again: immigration politics, justice, home affairs, education, space, social development, culture, youth, and cross-border cooperation.
