Marc Marquez claimed his seventh victory on the US Grand Prix circuit, ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia. Number 93 revealed the approved racing “strategy”.
“Before the race I was just thinking about wanting to get off to a good start, be fast in the first corner and then slow down for the first three laps and attack once the opponents’ time went down. That’s exactly what I did, after which I tried to increase the gap between the competitors and keep the pace Steady and easy racing.”
Mark then revealed how difficult the final part of the race was for him, and joked about how the podium had affected the fight in the World Championships between Quartararo and Banaya.
“The The last few laps were really tough: I was tired and was struggling to stay focused. I knew Fabio was away and my intuition told me he was going to slow down, not to give up the fight for the world title. The result of the race makes everyone happy: I win and Fabio for second place. Pecco may not be so happy (To fight against the World Championship, editor), but I am sure she will return to Misano.”
