The logistical and health situation is not the most comfortable for a Bleus landing in the Southern Hemisphere
After Italy’s tours to New Zealand and Ireland to Fiji have been canceled, another international trip to the southern hemisphere appears to be in great danger: France’s trip to Australia.
In fact, according to what the team said, Bleus di GalthiĆØ for landing in the Wallabies’ land – with three matches scheduled between 7-13 and 17 July – has to undergo very strict and very costly health protocols which at this point are not said to be satisfied.
France: More and more doubts about the tour in Australia
First and foremost, the coaching staff must think of a very large group, of about fifty items, to assume the possibility of injuries or substitutions without the possibility of the players reaching Australia at a later time.
– Second, regulation and “map of movements”: The Australian national authorities, especially the Victorian state, in which France should play the second test match (in Melbourne), intend to isolate a representative beyond the Alps in a quasi-monastic manner. A strict withdrawal inside a hotel, with the possibility to leave the hotel only to train in a field near the structure for a maximum of one hour per day, and obviously no test matches.
– The third point: the value of the test matches. Going to play against Australia in the middle of a rugby season against a team with many tired men from the northern hemisphere and possibly untrained can have two negative consequences: the fact that challenges are largely lost and, above all, endanger the team. Players form between traumas and muscle injuries.
So GalthiĆØ and the Federation are evaluating all scenarios, but it is clear that many black clouds are clustering over the likelihood that these three-way matches will take place according to their original schedule.
