Insanity in the United States Where a man unleashed terror in the streets Chicago. He started walking around the city and for no apparent reason he started shooting random people. Before the policemen killed himself, there were three dead and several wounded, in critical conditions. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the attacks, which began on Saturday afternoon, with the killing of a 30-year-old University of Chicago student, who was shot in the head while sitting in his car in a parking lot in Hyde Park.
Mad death
The gunman, 32-year-old Jason Nightingale, allegedly entered an apartment block a block away, where he shot a 46-year-old security guard sitting at a desk and a 77-year-old woman receiving mail. The guard was pronounced dead at the hospital while the elderly woman – who was shot in the head – was hospitalized in critical condition.
Then Nightingale went to another building and kidnapped a man he knew, then went to a convenience store and shot him, killing a 20-year-old boy and wounding an 81-year-old woman in the head and neck, now in critical condition. After leaving the store, Nightingale shot a 15-year-old girl who was sitting in the car with her mother, also leaving the girl in critical condition. He then returned to the store where the agents were investigating the previous shootings and started shooting at them, but failed to hit them.
Nightingale then headed north to Evanston – on the border with Chicago – where police responded to a series of failed shots fired inside a store. Then he crossed the street to a restaurant, where he shot a woman in the neck, wounding her. Ultimately, he left the restaurant and was confronted by some officers in a parking lot, where he was shot and killed.
