Talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations will resume tomorrow, but still via video link. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, citing TASS.
Tomorrow, the White House National Security Adviser will meet with the Chinese Communist Party’s chief of diplomacy Yang Jiechi in Rome. Sullivan will also meet Luigi Mattiolo, diplomatic advisor to Prime Minister Mario Draghi. The White House National Security Adviser warns Beijing: Any move by China or other countries to provide a lifeline to Russia or help evade Western sanctions will have consequences.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was quoted by the TASS news agency as saying that the positions of Russia and Ukraine had “somehow come close”. “Serious discussions between them are continuing,” Ankara’s head of diplomacy added to the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, noting that “Ukraine’s neutrality” is among the topics under discussion. Turkey, along with Israel, was identified as a potential mediator between Kyiv and Moscow by Ukrainian presidential advisor and negotiator Mikhailo Podolak.
The Pope also repeats the appeal: “In the name of God, stop this massacre.”
