The first Amazon sorting warehouse opened in Sardinia

The first Amazon sorting warehouse is officially established in Sardinia. It is located in Nervi Road, in the industrial area of ​​Elmas, at a strategic point: near Cagliari Airport, State Routes 131, 554 and 130.

In fact, it has been in operation since last November, but the pandemic emergency forced the postponement of the opening that took place today, in the presence of, among others, the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Trozzo and the regional tourism advisor Gianni Chiesa.

The structure, with a total area of ​​six thousand square meters, is the first logistics center on the island and is supported by customer service that has been in the same area for several years. Thirty employees and seventy drivers from the companies that actually carry packages work at home there.

All areas of southern Sardinia are covered: deliveries reach Riola Sardo in the west and Moravera San Vito in the east. Parcels were sorted in the southwest also in the region of Carbona up to Sant’Antioco, in the region of Sulcis. With the sorting warehouse, the number of Amazon permanent appointees in Sardinia reaches 1,200.
