(PRIMAPRESS) – GENOA – The Ligurian city for the third year and the Day of San Giorgio, on Friday 23 April, celebrates the Day of the Genoese Flag and San Giorgio, which will be held in the square of the Palace of Torcy. After showing an emotional video clip informing the city of its most memorable corners and its inhabitants, words will be delivered by Genoa Mayor Marco Pucci and Ligurian President Giovanni Totti. Flag Day will be an occasion for the nomination of 10 new Genoese ambassadors in the world, which will be presented by event coordinator Giuseppe Franceschelli.
Among the new appointments is that of Gian Francesco Lopatelli, President of MSP Italy and founder of Aces Europe, the largest global network of sports cities. During the day there will be contacts from London with the Italian Consul in the United Kingdom Marco Villani, with the President of the Institute of Science Malcolm Farrow and the President of St. George’s Club Dominic Benny.
Part of the ceremony is dedicated to a symbolic greeting of the Genoese athletes who will participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Japan, with interventions from the stage of Panathlon Club President Genova Maurizio Dhaka and Genoa’s ambassador to the world Megumi.
