While many governors and legislatures have been busy implementing and expanding shutdowns that have devastated small businesses, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is providing much-needed relief.
The Barstool Fund, set up by Portnoy to help small businesses in need, has raised more than $ 16 million as of December 31.
Earlier in December, Portnoy launched the fund with a contribution of $ 500,000 of its own funds. Since then, the Relief Fund has grown exponentially.
“Once you join our program, we will pay for everything you need, the necessities you need, and the money you need to bypass this thing and give you a fair chance to run your business,” Portnoy He said. “These people don’t go out of business because they didn’t succeed or make money, because they had no other choice. They got a hand that no one could play.”
Since its inception, Portnoy has provided regular updates on the businesses the fund assists.
