Mario IsolaPresident of F1 & Car Racing at Pirelli, gave an interview to Microphones Planet F1 which also focused on strategy Williams for Alexander Albon at Australia (He stopped on the penultimate lap.) The famous Italian CEO said he was positively surprised.

“This is the first time in 12 years that I have seen a strategy like this, with the car running from the start on the same set of tires for the entire race. An exceptional approach”Isola commented.
When asked if such a strategy could be replicated by others in the future, the Italian replied:
“It depends on the load on the tyre. Obviously the safety car helped. Williams was able to get the most out of the rubber, at a good speed. This is important information. With lower tire warming temperatures and this new set of vehicles, overheating is a potential problem.” Also the first few laps after restarting the safety car are more difficult because you have to warm up the tire the right way. That’s really cool. I’m still scratching my head thinking how this was possible!”
