Health officials said the people who died were two men and two women from Hillsboro County and one man from Belknap County, all of whom were 60 years of age or older. Four deaths were associated with a long-term care facility.

This is the largest number of deaths in the state announced in a single day since June 26, when there were 8 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in New Hampshire over the course of the pandemic.

Officials said 20 of the new cases are in people under the age of 18, and 35 new cases are linked to the outbreak in a long-term care facility.

According to health officials, 102 of the new cases were confirmed via PCR tests, while 21 cases were confirmed with rapid antigen tests. The daily PCR test positive rate was 1.2%.

Health officials said 692 cases of COVID-19 are active in New Hampshire, the highest number since July 10.

Two more people have been hospitalized with COVID-19. Officials said 21 people are currently being hospitalized due to the coronavirus in the state.
