Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On Fort Lauderdale Beach, those who spent months pulling out of the tavern from quarantine appeared, parade and put some back into some semblance of normality.

“I’m healthy, I’m strong and feel comfortable with all of my friends,” said Dan Jebbe, who was enjoying a Saturday in the Elbo Room.

In an unexpected and surprising announcement on Friday, Governor Ron DeSantes has lifted all restrictions on restaurants and other businesses in Florida In a move to reopen the country’s economy despite the spread of the Corona virus.

With this green light, bars and clubs were allowed to reopen.

Its three-page executive order also stipulated that local municipalities could not restrict capacity. It also eliminated any fines related to COVID-19. Florida state reported on Saturday 2795 new cases of COVID-19, In addition to 14,022 deaths among residents and 168 deaths from non-residents due to COVID-19.

Miami Mayor Frances Suarez has more than a few concerns.

“One of the things that worries me the most is the mask mandate. I’m really worried that the issues will continue to rise and then we might have to go back to the situation we’re working hard to avoid.”

He added that the governor’s order is confusing and dangerous.

“It is not clear what can and cannot be done,” Suarez said.

It also increased its counterpart at Fort Lauderdale.

“Many of us have been left wondering where to go from here?” The Mayor of Fort Lauderdale said the Mayor of Trantales. “The ruler’s order was so open that the business owners really didn’t have any direction in what they had to do.”

Broward County issued a new Executive Order five hours after the governor, which states that the rails must comply with spacing requirements and capacity restrictions. The order permits bars, pubs, nightclubs, adult entertainment establishments, banquet halls, breweries, cigar bars, and any other establishment licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations for the sale of food and / or alcohol for business, provided you are in agreement with Appendix 2 County emergency order.

“Just like restaurants, small groups – I think that’s what we intend to have in bars as well,” said Trantales.

Both mayors said they expected new regulations in the coming days.

Dan Gilber, Mayor of Miami Beach, described the move by DeSantis as political – and unsafe in South Florida, which has the highest concentration of COVID-19 cases in the state.

“I don’t think anyone in Miami-Dade County knew this was coming,” Gilber said. “I think we were heading in the right direction. The governor just wants to follow Trump’s example as much as possible.”

In Davy, Gavers pub owner Debbie Cowles said the small, family-run business has suffered financially from the pandemic.

We had to pay the rent, the electricity, and all the bills. “If it were too long, we wouldn’t be here,” said Kools.

The pub has been closed for six months, so reopening it is what she calls a life saver.

Kools said, however, that safety remains a priority.

“Everybody is really careful here,” said Bob Von, patron of the regular Gaffers pub.

Trantales hopes that people will continue to stay informed and stay safe.
