However, the Czech Republic is a league of a completely different rank compared to Iran and certainly represents a more difficult test bed for Durant and co.. Indeed, the European team can count on excellent players like Tomáš Satoranský, a name known to Americans since he played in the NBA for more than five years and currently wears a Chicago Bulls jersey, and Jan Veselý.

However, the United States still started out as candidates, because also, between the two lists, there is still a clear talent gap. If the defending champions play as they know, the Czech Republic will have little to do.
