The news of the disappearance was a severe blow to everyone who knew the entrepreneur, as dozens and dozens of messages of condolence had been sent to the family in the past few hours. “He was very respected in the area – says his son Tommaso – and was always very well liked and respected by everyone.” His joining the family business dates back to the late 1970s, and in that capacity, “has lived for over 40 years at Salone del mobile, collaborating with designers from all over the world”. Also known internationally, he has led the company to become a quality brand. “Someone in the past was called a chair by Walt Disney – Tommaso Passoni remembers fondly – and I like to remember him like that.” During his career, he has received many awards on behalf of the brand, including the last one in November directly from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as Italian Excellence with the Innovation Awards.

In addition to his work, Elvis Bassoni has also been very active in the social field, serving as the head of the youth division of Centrosedia basketball between the 1990s and early 2000s.
