From Monday in Tuscany 35 bank branches closed forever

It will happen to some Tuscany residents, that next Monday, April 12th, go to the bank and find the counter is closed. Locked forever. This is the long wave of Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP) acquisition of Ubi, which is now also operating throughout its branch network. Some of them were sold to Bper. Many others have passed through the already made Intesa network. Thus, the previous branches that overlap geographically with those already in the ISP are merged in the same square, on the same street or in the vicinity. The result is a wave of closures beginning Monday, April 12th.
In some branches due to remain closed early next week, there is no notice on the window, but customers have already been notified by personal letter – Banca Intesa Sanpaolo confirms. Because along with the physical transfer from one branch to another neighbor, customers will see their IBAN change: also in this case – the bank claims – customers are notified and the residency change will happen automatically without certain problems in normal cases. Just like credit and debit cards will last. Employees are also grappling with the migration of IT systems, which is another matter for Ubi employees and customers, who have already faced the recent move from Banca Etruria to the Bergamo-based bank that is now incorporated by the super institute led by CEO Carlo Messina.
But how many branches are there in Tuscany that disappear by incorporation? Not a few. In total, there are 41 people who have permanently lowered the counter because they are amalgamating into another nearby agency, especially Intesa Sanpaolo (which rarely shuts down the ISP counter in favor of neighboring Ubi). For 35 branches, the closure has been in effect since Monday, April 12, while activity will continue for 6 more branches at a discounted rate pending the merger, which is supposed to take place by June. Added to this is a final closure in the province of Arezzo.
In Florence there are 6 branches that close and congregate into one physical space of a nearby agency. It takes place in Bacaria Square and across Arietina. The Ubi branch in Via delle Panche is also closed and merged with the Intesa Sanpaolo branch in viale Morgagni; Ubi closes Via dei Banchi in favor of Isp in Via Bufalini; Ubi closes on Via de Novoli and transfers to Intesa Sanpaolo in Via Carlo Magno; Ubi lowers the shutters forever in viale Gramsci and transfers operations to ISP in viale Matteotti. The branch on Via dei Banchi, which was closed, was, among other things, the historic residence of the Banca del Vecchio furnished in the style of bank halls of the early twentieth century, with furnishings of particular value. Groups with a relative closing of a branch also in Scandic, Sisto, Pontasif, Montelobo and Feiglin, while the Ubi branch is closed in Vinci, which joins the Isp branch in Empoli at Pivano Rolando Road.
In total, about seventy Ubi branches in Tuscany have moved to Intesa Sanpaolo. A particular case exists in the province of Arezzo, as a result of the strong concentration of branches, but also of central services, in this region that was the stronghold of Banca Etruria that Ubi Banca once controlled. “After eighteen Ubi branches have passed through to Bper Banca on February 22, this weekend will be – also in Arezzo province, as is the case across Italy – to the company,” says Fabio Valtone, Regional Secretary’s Coordinator, Fabio Valtone, Coordinator of the Regional Secretary. Ubi Banca Fabi (Italian Autonomous Banking Federation), Italy’s first trade union in the banking sector. In fact, the remaining sixteen subsidiaries of Ubi will open on April 12th under the Banca Intesa Sanpaolo brand. To tell the truth, out of these sixteen, eight will be merged with their ISP counterparts, a small counter will be closed and the other seven will remain independent, adding to the nearly thirty Intesa Sanpaolo already. Nearly one hundred employees of Ubi branches are affected by this step, to which are added more than three hundred employees from the headquarters on Via Calamandrei (including, in this number, an abundance of Ubiss – Ubi Sistemi e Servizi, a company that too ‘has been merged In ISP). Lights and Shadows, from this first stage of the “new” Intesa Sanpaolo in our province. We certainly do not appreciate branch mergers, especially since we are still in a full health emergency, mergers that – among other things – most agencies disappear The former historic BancaEtruria, while we are satisfied that we were able to retain the offices of the Regional Pole (former General Department of Etruria) of Calamandre Street, which was already very well appreciated by Ubi, and is also satisfied with the vision of Ubiss – Ubi Sistemi e Servizi, also very well located “By us, which has been absorbed into the ISP. Now, while union negotiations are still underway regarding the company’s contractual integration for the two banks, a strong and lasting support and training project for workers who come from Ubi is needed, as well as its apparent strengthening.”
