    The Australian Defense Minister and Attorney General have been sacked for their involvement in recent sexual assault scandals

    Australian Defense Minister Linda Reynolds and Australian Attorney General Christian Porter have been sacked for their involvement in the sexual assault scandals that have rocked the country’s politics for nearly a month and a half. The Advertise On Monday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison of the Liberal Party appointed their replacements.

    In mid-February, a former Liberal Party aide, Brittany Higgins, said she was raped in 2019 by another party aide in Reynolds’ office inside Parliament. About ten days later, Porter was charged with raping a woman in 1988, when he was 17 and she was 16. Since early March, Porter has been on sick leave for the “media trial” he said he felt exposed, and so did Reynolds, who got into a deal in the meantime. A defamation lawsuit At Higgins’ initiative: The minister described the woman as a “stupid liar” for the way she said she had not received enough support from the government after her first reports.

    According to Morrison, “these options will change what can be changed” and at the same time “will maintain the continuity and stability that Australia needs.”
